Samsung Series 5 540U3C Review
Samsung Series 5 540U3C is a successor of the earlier Samsung Series 5 530U3C and it delivers many improvements. The newer laptop still uses the power saving components and a highly solid case. The SSD improves battery life, shortens loading time immensely and delivers respectable performance boost.
The battery life is satisfactory and it contributes to reasonable mobility. The 13.3 (1366 x 768) touchscreen display is sufficiently bright, but with less than impressive black depths and contrast. Windows 8 UI reacts precisely to gestures and taps.
A hatch on the back allows for easy maintenance and users can clean the fan easily. They should also be able to replace SSD and upgrade RAM easily. The 1.7GHz Intel Core i5-3317U ULV processor can go as high as 2.6GHz with the Turbo Boost feature. The 8GB DDR3 should be more than enough for typical multitasking tasks. Overall, the Samsung 540U3C is an entirely interesting sub-notebook with decent touch functionality.
