Toshiba Portégé R930 Review
The Portégé R930 is a practical addition to the earlier Toshiba Portégé Z930 ultrabook. The laptop is aimed towards users who find ultrabooks restrictive with their fewer port options. However, this comes at the price of bulkier design. Fortunately, the Portégé R930 still feels lightweight at only 1.4 kilograms and it has a rather durable surface, which is resistant to smudges and fingerprints.
There are only status LEDs on the front; while HDMI out port, one USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0/eSATA combo, VGA out port and power socket can be found on the left side. There’s another USB 3.0 port on the right side along with RJ45 LAN socket, Kensington lock socket, headphone/mic jack, DVD burner and card reader. The keyboard is mostly identical to the one we found on the Portégé R830, with its smooth surface and convenient layout.
The display is a 13.3” model with 1366 x 768 resolution. The 320GB 7200rpm hard drive is reasonably fast. Under the hood, there are Intel Core i3 2370M 2.4GHz dual-core processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and Intel HD 3000 GPU.
